Matt is a musician and audio engineer from Philadelphia.  He became interested in music at a young age, starting piano lessons at the age of 8 and then picking up the guitar at the age of 10.  In high school he received the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, which is given to the most outstanding senior jazz student.  In college he studied jazz improvisation with world-renowned trumpeter Sean Jones (sideman for Wayne Shorter and Marcus Miller), and jazz guitar with Mark Koch (Max Roach, Pat Martino).  He graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Technology degree from Duquesne University.  Matt teaches guitar and bass to students of all ages and skill levels.  He also does live sound mixing for the School of Rock venue. He is passionate about finding great instrument tone and improving playing technique for his students.
